Decided to post as is for now what the time with International Folk Art Market was like.  Loved it with its Monsoon downpour which cooled off the temperatures to comfortable again even with the crowds being what they were.. PACKED!

Adios for now.  Will be back after the weekend.

Art Markets Abound in Santa Fe

This weekend has several Art Markets happening in town!

Meow Wolf's performances from last years IFAM
I'm sure they will return again this year and its a not to be missed event.

SATURDAY EVENTS

Santa Fe Rail yard Art District has two Artists markets happening.  One on Saturday outside along the rail yard and on Sunday is the Artisan Market taking place in the Santa Fe Rail yard Farmers Marketplace.  Both are awesome places to scout out a treasure made by a local artist.
Another event taking place on Saturday is the Farmers Market in the Marketplace across from the Saturday Artist Market which is across the street from REI & The Crown Theater complex.

SUNDAY EVENTS

On Sunday will be two artists market events, one at the Rail yard Farmers Marketplace building and up at the Museum Hill will be the International Folk Art Market which runs from Friday through Sunday.  You'll need a ticket for those days and you can find them online here! along with a schedule for all events happening.

I'll be at the Santa FE Rail yard Artisan Market with a collection of woven wall tapestries and more.  Be sure to make a day or it or enjoy an entire weekend filled with local and international artists.

More photos to come...

I love the colors produced with indigo dyes and these are amazing.

So many amazing artisans travel far and beyond to make it to the International Folk Art Market where they are hosted by one of many volunteers every year.  Most of these talented artisans's sales would last these families for an entire year in living expenses back home.  I LOVE THESE ADORABLE FELTED ANIMALS...

natural dyes for textiles

I'm a sucker for all things textiles and fiber arts and of course I'll be attending again this year on Saturday as I'll be working Sunday at the Rail yard Artisan Market.
You most likely to find me browsing the textiles and felted animals.
I'm always on the search for knowledge to expand my own practice in fiber arts.

Some photos from last year's event are a little blurry so this year will make it a goal to capture clear and crisp images.  hugs for now.. and see you around this weekend.. I HOPE..

Circles Abounding

Organic Woven Circle MAGIC

What a fantastic weaving adventures at Sew to Speak & Yarn shoppe while a bustling saturday's Farmers Market shared the streets.  Lunch was a little piece of pasterie heaven. As promised a little sneak peek of our group photo at the end of the day.

The day was filled with yummy textures of various weaving methods such as plain weave, soumak weave, basket weave and rya knots.
Sew to Speak & Yarn Shoppe resides at the old Worthington Library building.
